Tea bowl Chawan hand carved with picked clay. Usable for drinking matcha or loose leaf tea. This bowl was made with local clay (stoneware) collected by Simon himself, without a potter's wheel ("Tama Zukuri", "Kurinuki" technique). The piece is glazed from minerals harvested locally by hand and then ground. It is fired at a high temperature (1280°C).
Waterproof, food-safe, local, natural, and hand-collected materials.
