Weekend Wheel Throwing Class - Mugs and Jugs

The class will run over a weekend - plus the following Friday for glazing; no previous experience is necessary to participate.

In this class, you will be introduced to throwing and handling, focusing on mugs and jugs. The class will include techniques like throwing, turning, pulling, attaching handles, and pulling lips on jugs.

• Day one will be focused on throwing with demos of various shapes and pulling lips on jugs. We will also look at various examples of mugs and jugs and discuss their construction.
• Day two is focused on finishing pots through trimming or other techniques and on pulling
• and attaching handles to pots.
• Day three is a short introduction to what glaze is and what it does, and you will learn about
• glaze application. There are a variety of different glazes to choose from in the studio.
