Collection: Atelier 1991 by Sara Samsøe
Sara Samsøe’s artistic journey began unexpectedly a few years ago in Cape Town, where she discovered her love for clay. Today, she supplies her ceramics to renowned establishments such as AOC, Atelier September, and HART bakery. Working from her studio in northern Zealand, Sara crafts unique pieces that showcase her passion for clay. A self-taught ceramicist, she continually explores new techniques and forms, pushing the boundaries of her medium.
Born in 1991 to Danish and Iranian parents, Sara describes her studio — a cozy cabin —as the most peaceful place on earth. Here, she creates an array of ceramics, including sculptures, vessels, furniture, and whatever other objects inspire her.
Her latest mini collection, Niwa!, reflects the charm of a small garden, inspired by views of her garden and the ocean just outside her atelier. Crafted from white and light beige stoneware and terracotta, some pieces are glazed while others remain raw, highlighting their natural textures. The collection includes a two-legged vessel designed for a single flower or as a standalone sculpture (with her signature round ceramic ball detail), a coral-like incense plate, and various earring trays that can also serve as unique serving dishes or decorative objects.
Materials: Stoneware and earthenware in both glazed and unglazed finishes.
