Collection: Emma Härdin

Emma Härdin is a Stockholm based ceramic artist who mainly focuses on tableware.

She's inspired by the traditional tableware potters, where one single studio potter works in the same way as the mass production of the assembly line in the big industries. Trying to adapt this assembly line, she likes her workflow to be systematic, predictable and controlled. Like this, she can let her hands do all the work and her brain is 'off on vacation'. That feeling is undeniably the most addictive.

For YONOBI Emma let go of her traditional mindset, trying to let each shape of the bowls be a little bit different to get that unique feeling of each piece.

Emma calls these bowls ”Lucie” as these pieces are inspired by the late master Lucie Rie. Emma's relationship to Lucie Rie's work is based on an admiration for her gentle lines, yet rough expression. Emma has studied her ceramics since she herself started working in the ceramic field and that has given her the urge to try finding the balance between fragility and roughness. A balance that, when made perfect, makes the piece so irresistible you feel the need to touch it.
