Collection: Nathalie Reocreux
Nathalie Reocreux is a French artist, based northwest of France in the countryside of Britanny. Nathalie uses 'wildclay', which she harvests around her home or when traveling. "What I prefer the most in ceramics is experimentation. Collecting clay, raw material, and rock. Mixing them and let it reveal in the flame."
The process is very long: she removes the largest pebbles and debris by pressing the earth between her fingers. Nathalie works primarily with hand-building, and you can, therefore clearly see the fingermarks from the artist.
For the glazing part, she also collects wild stones, which she grinds to powder and ash from plants - like lavender, wood from her fireplace, vine shoot from a small wine producer and fern that she collects and burns herself. A production that takes time and is guided by beautiful randomness.
"My approach is as local and ecological as possible. I have a small production, that is guided by the discovery and experimentation of the materials that surround me."
Yonobi is thrilled to present a small unique collection of both unique pieces and tableware.
