5-days-intense Evening Wheel Throwing Class

The course is for those who would like to acquire knowledge and experience with the wheel-throwing technique and learn about the many processes within the craft.

The course is for beginners and experienced throwers, and you are welcome to attend regardless of previous experience. You will be introduced to the basic wheel-throwing techniques during the class and have plenty of time to delve. The first day will be about getting everyone settled by the pottery wheel and learning how to collaborate with the clay - from wedging to centering on the wheel and finally shaping the clay. If you are already familiar with the first processes in wheel throwing, you can feel free to continue at your level, where I will guide you in detail and technique.

We will work with a "friendly stoneware clay" and work with trimming the bottoms of your pieces from day to day. Every day, your teacher will start by demonstrating a new technique you can work with for the rest of the day. The last day will be about decorating and finishing your work, and then we will meet the following week again for glazing.

• Day one, Centering and throwing a basic cylinder and other simple shapes
• Day two, Working with new techniques and throwing (your designs)
• Day three, Working with new techniques, throwing (your designs), and trimming
• Day four, Trimming and finishing all the pieces with decorating, etc.
• Day five, Glazing
